Marycrest Village Apartments Nearing Completion

Duffy’s current Volunteers of America project, the renovation of Marycrest Village in Joliet, IL, a 39,600 SF 3-story, 56 unit senior living facility, is nearing completion. In addition to the renovation of the residential units, the project included the replacement of the roof, the siding and all windows, a new main entrance, modernization of corridor and public areas, and building two additions – one of which is a new community center for activities and events. 

The resident’s units were renovated to include new flooring, kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, A/C, plumbing and wiring as needed. Major upgrades include an added emergency back-up generator, added fire suppression system, fire alarm devices, emergency call system, entry system, surveillance system, new HVAC equipment for the common areas, as well as new apartment and common area signage. Exterior improvements include updated landscaping, lighting, water service, tenant amenities and upgraded parking.

Throughout the course of this project, residents were relocated from individual units while work in their area was completed, requiring a solid logistic plan to keep the project on schedule.
