JJDCO FOCUSING ON COVID-19

03-Apr-2020

The Construction Industry, especially the construction of Affordable Housing as an essential industry in Illinois, as stated by Governor Pritzker JJDCO, is working  as follows to battle COVID-19:

Joseph J. Duffy Co. is doing its part in contributing to the construction of affordable housing projects that is adding jobs and helping the economy while at the same time providing for the health and safety of our workers. In an email to all of our employees, Mike Mozal, President of JJ Duffy Co. stated “I wanted to reach out to all Duffy employees and brief them on the proper precautions of COVID-19.   Attached, you will find some information on COVID-19.   At this time JJDCO is keeping all job sites open and require utilizing the precautions addressed by OSHA and the CDC.   JJDCO encourages you to talk about this on your job sites and require employees if they have some symptoms outlined in the attachments to have them stay home.” As a result, JJDCO requires all job sites should have a handwashing station that is well supplied with soap and water and should have multiple supplies of hand sanitizer and paper towels. Superintendents should have a foreman’s meeting outlining the company policy whereby anyone exhibiting any of the symptoms listed in the previous hand out (high fever over 100.4, hacking cough, burning in the lungs) should be sent home immediately.

We all are concerned with health and safety of our workers and the communities we live in and support and if we all follow the government’s guidelines and work together, we will get through this crisis.
