Michael A. MozalLEED AP BD+C President and Chief Estimator

Michael has been wtih the Joseph J. Duffy Co. since 1985. He served as Vice President from 1996 until he became President in 2004. Mike earned a BS in Construction Management from the University of Wisconsin STOUT in 1985. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Construction Specifications Institute, maintaining his knowledge of the latest construction products and systems. Mike currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Builder's Association, AGC Charter Chapter.  During his career in construction management, Mike has been responsible for more than 6,000 retirement and multi-family housing units in more than 60 buildings, in addition to work in commercial, medical, nursing home and parking structure projects. Mike's thoroughness, particularly in the preconstruction phase, is a company trademark – a necessary quality for delivering the best construction management Chicago and Northern Illinois can provide – and is verified by the few change orders Duffy typically encounters.

Jerry D. DeCiccoLEED AP BD+C Vice President and Director of Field Operations

Jerry started at Duffy in 1974 and left for 10 years to work as a project manager on shopping centers, high rises and various other commercial/institutional project types. He has a strong background in project management, field operations, estimating and purchasing, and his diverse and well-rounded qualifications are what many of our clients look for in their Chicago construction managers. Jerry holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University and an MBA from DePaul University. He has applied his conceptual estimating, evaluation engineering and computer skills to projects that were valued at more than $45 million in 1986. He is a member of the Construction Specifications Institute and served on the Builder's Association Safety and Building Code Committees. Jerry is responsible for the firm's project management, field operations and scheduling, including safety compliance. He recently completed safety training that qualifies him to teach 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA safety classes. His customer friendly approach is why repeat business and referrals constitute almost all of Duffy's work, a sign that our company has the solid construction management Chicago needs and appreciates.

Sandra E. Holdeman-DeCiccoCPA Chief Financial Officer

Sandra joined the firm in 2003. Sandra has 20 years of financial management and accounting experience, including 18 years in construction and development. She earned a BBA in Finance at Western Michigan University and her MBA, with an accounting concentration, at Loyola University. She is responsible for planning, developing and implementing the overall direction of the firm's financial activities, and she also oversees internal controls designed to safeguard assets and assure that financial information is compliant with applicable laws, policies, regulations and company procedures. She manages all human resource activities.

Joseph R. Beuttas Vice President of Business Development

Joseph joined the firm in early 2008. Joe began his construction management career while working for a family-owned company that built hospitals, major retail complexes for a national retail/catalog company, hi-rise buildings and other commercial and industrial projects. He spent 19 years working for Blount Brothers as Regional Business Development Manager. Other companies Joe has worked for include M. A. Mortenson, Turner Construction and Capitol Construction Co., which are all in business development. Joe has worked continuously in the construction/real estate industry since 1965 and he has project management and estimating experience to add to his marketing and business development skills. He has a BA from Creighton University and has taken post graduate classes at Northwestern University.

Nicholas J. Wiedl Senior Project Manager

Nick Wiedl, Senior Project Manager joined the firm in 2003, with more than 20 years of construction, estimating, and project management experience in residential, commercial and public sector projects.  Nick, a graduate of Bradley University, holds a BS in Construction.  As our Senior Project Manager, Nick has full responsibility, from initial estimates through completion, for a wide range of projects, including multi-family, municipal, educational, detention, commercial and industrial facilities, along with site development experience. Additionally, Nick manages the Project Management and Field computer hardware and software requirements throughout the company.
